Wrap yourself around that rack of dvd's. Smoke while you are doing so...

I've been trying to get through a badly-written biography of Crazy Horse (whose name actually translated to "His-Horse-is-Spirited") and discovered that the Lakota went through life with several different names rather than just the one your parents gave you at birth. Why don't we do that? I would like to change my name to something more obnoxious. Like Stelmaria (which shall be the name of my first daughter if I am ever cursed with female children), or Clytemnestra.

Yes, Clytemnestra has a nice ring to it. What would y'all choose if you could pick a new name?

So I'm actually getting moving with this psych project (the one on bullying, I mentioned in this post). To everyone who responded (Believe&Lose, Ariana, Eloise18, lovelybones, Jessk, Kazehana, & Oxymoron, & anyone I forgot...) I will be hunting you down to see if you're still interested. If anyone else is interested, please email me!-- bellatrixburrows@hotmail.com --and I'll send you the first questions.

I made some more progress on Peri's patch:

Now I can start the actual embroidering. Yay!!

Some treats for y'all:

I love this stuff. It tastes like a fruit roll up.

70 cals for the whole can--I put it in a salad with some crushed pecans and pico de gallo,
...which is only 5 cals per 2/3 tablespoon.

I forgot cream soda existed, but I like exploring the soda aisle for new fizzy drinks that I can have as a treat in the evenings, so I don't pig out. 0 cals. :D

Little Sis made me buy this for her. I never realized it's pretty low in calories--only 40 per 2 tablespoons. If you can stop yourself from eating the whole jar, it's a nice little treat. For me, it's just a little too sweet to have more than a spoonful.

Sorry I've been slacking on commenting on all your blogs! I have the feeds sent to my phone, so I do read every single one, but I can't comment from my phone and I've been super busy. On the agenda for today:
- Exercise.
- Draft Mum's divorce complaint (I talked her out of paying for an attorney--she has me).
- Open a safety deposit box in my name to hide all Mum's good jewelry, because Stepbrother is a sketchy bastard who waits until there's no one home and then goes through our stuff. And this sad individual is like 38 years old.
- Post my niece's birthday present (it's been sitting in my car for like a week).
- Start embroidering the patch.
- Read next chapter for psych.
- Hiking, if I have time?

Photo from yesterday's hike:
That's the lookout trail at Ramapo Mountain State Forest. I kicked that trail's A$$!!!

  3. The patch is coming along beautifully. I love the colors. It's magical, but it needs sparkles.
(Ok. Maybe that's just me. I feel like I might be slightly humorous this morning.)
I love pico de gallo... make it fresh, a huge bowlful. I also probably overestimate the kcal... I always call it 25kcal per tablespoon. Next time I make it I'll weigh everything.

I love you, by the way, as creepy stalkerish as that sounds. I love love love you. You're wonderful. ♡

  4. Those name yous chose were really cool! I wish I could change my name too. I hate my real name- I don't feel like it describes me at all. I'd pick either Ariana (not my name in real life, unforturnatly), Sapphire, Kiki, or Emmanuelle. I might save those if I ever have to go into witness protection or something.

That patch you're working on is really pretty! I wish I could do things with embroidery and fabric like that =).

I'd totally still be interested in helping you with the bullying thing! =)

  5. We don't get canned crab meat in this country. Boo. I am going to alert the masses to this henous crime against hungry dieters ASAP. This fuckery must end. I want marshmallow fluff. I mean, what the fuck is marshmallow fluff? I've never ever seen this stuff on the shelves of our grocery stores and it just makes me so fucking ANGRY. GGRRRRRRrrrrrrrrr fucfucuck.

By the way, my new name would be "India", for real yo.

Keep it real! (So fucking cheesy yes I know)

Also I love: Simone, Cassiopia, Lakshmi, Bindi, Starhopper

haha, that last one was a joke.

  10. Your food looks yummy, and that picture is gorgeous. I'm jealous of your scenery.

I think I'd change my name to Iris. It always felt right and seemed to fit. Or maybe Dusk or Thorn. I'm a closet hippie, haha.

  11. I don't want girl kids either.. even though I have mostly only girls names picked out.
I'm pretty happy with Gem. But my girl will either be Nancy, Blossom (my favourite), Shirley or Victoria. Dunno what's with those names.

That patch you're making for Peri is gonna be sick! Can see the potential. I think I like it just the way it is already.

    woo hoo!

  13. My real name is French, so naturally, no one gets it right! I always wanted a plain name that everyone knows, like Jean or Jane.

My mother nicknamed me 'Lilith', as in the female demon from Jewish mythology, you can see why I don't want kids! Don't get me wrong, I like children, but I couldn't eat a whole one!

Your watercolour work is amazing! Can't wait to see it finished.

Lovely nature shot. I know you want to climb it! XX.

  14. The watercolor is so pretty! I cannot wait to see what it looks like when you're all done.

That hike looks lovely! I need to try and make a trip up there :)

  15. Was Stelmaria the name of Lord Asriel's daemon in Philip Pullman's Northern Lights? Some sort of leopard..
I'm always mildly amused by meat in a can. There's some sort of meat thing I see in the supermarket now and then, and the brand name is Goblin. Goblin meat in a can, anyone??
House building. Yes. I secretly want to marry a carpenter.

  16. Your watercolor patch is lovely! The "fluff" reminded me of the 3 years (sigh, miss it) that we lived in Connecticut, a, "Fluffernutter" sandwich was a staple food item. Can you imagine the calories??

i loved learning everyone's names...what they would like to be.

Me? Something Middle Eastern....Mirit, Dahmane, ummmm, can't think. Or, from one of my favorite book's, "Kolya". Violet. Sasha. Em. Kate. Oh, the list goes on and on.....
tracy is such a dumb name, sorry dad and mom.....
