No photos yet, but a quick update....
The furniture gets moved tomorrow. Mike the Band Leader told me to cancel the movers and get a Uhaul, and he'd handle the acquiring of men to move furniture. 7 or 8 of them are coming tomorrow. This will save me like $500+.
My friend C. came over in the afternoon to help me unpack the kitchen stuff. We picked Niecey G up from school and then went back to the apartment and played with the My Little Ponies while I paced around trying to decide where to hang all the photos and art.
There wasn't much as far as stuff to be unpacked, but I still felt at home there. I hope that's a good sign.
Later, C. and I went to the Wit's End Tavern for dinner. They had THE BEST wings, and like 20 choices for sauces. We tried the Thai peanut and the Old Bay seasoned wings, and they were amazing. It was also fairly clear that everyone in the place knew everyone else.
EXCITING STUFF!!!
I exchanged numbers with a cute farmer. We have a date Sunday maybe.
o.O
Sounds like a good place to be.
ReplyDeleteYay you! It sounds like a great place to be! I hope you and kitty cats can make a cozy home! (I love that word "cozy" now that husband had resigned, we are hoping to find a cozy home! somewhere!) Farmer sounds like fun! Do report!
DeleteI'm sure your mere walking in the door set the place abuzz.
ReplyDelete"7 or 8 of them are coming tomorrow. This will save me like $500+." GOOD NEWS
ReplyDeleteGOOD! i'm excited to read this post.
hey, hey, i hope that you're planning to update us about the farmer.
sounds like a new adventure is about to begin, isn't it?

HUZZAH for friendly strapping men, saving money, moving in, good wings, and cute farmers.
ReplyDeleteWear the diamondy top and he will be putty in your hands.
P.S. You joked about getting Peri and me one so we won't steal it but if it's actually for sale tell me where because I need one.
True friends help you move dead bodies.
ReplyDeleteFinally apartment is happening!
You have this tendency to bury the lead. Not sure what's up with that. Woohoo on the apartment and all that, but I can't wait to hear the smokin' details on your hot date!!!
ReplyDeleteAw yay! So glad you are about to be all moved in. Lucky you on having someone help you unpack! That's the sucky part.
ReplyDeleteBefore you know it, you will be a regular at the Wit's End, as I am a regular at the neighborhood diner. How nice of those people to move your furniture. My ex-husband paid for movers when I absconded to Florida. He was that eager to be rid of me.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Woo hoo! I was wondering if there were any strong-armed forces you could call on free of charge. Maybe bake them a cake or something?
ReplyDeleteOoh, a date?! I expect a tell-all post first thing Monday :P
xxxx
Oh, yeah, Uhaul is the way to go, esp. if you aren't going too far. Sounds like the move was a good one ;)
ReplyDeleteDo post pics! I love to see how people decorate their places. Kitties there yet? My sis just moved home and is staying with brother j for a few days with her two pits and cat, who was surprisingly okay after traveling from Cincinnati to Maine.
Not quite sure where you live but this place sounds so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhen you walk in a place and it feels like home then it is home.
Happy Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy.
Love the name of the bar, Wit's End.
cheers, parsnip and thehamish
Congratulations! I hope you had a date today. :)
ReplyDeleteWits End tavern? hahaha!!! Genius business strategy right there...
ReplyDeleteSome guy is bringing 7 or 8 burly men to help with moving and you've actually gone for a guy that isn't one of them? Do you carry a large stick for fending men off? I'm glad things seem to be going so smoothly. Having friends makes it much easier. And cheaper too, apparently.
ReplyDeleteIt's Monday so now we're curious how the date went with the farmer. And if it's possible to ask him if he enjoys plowing with a straight face.

ReplyDelete"The only temperatures are ice cubes, luke warm, and dragon fire." aye i second this.
"I think you're better at pictures than I am. Those colours and textures!! How'd you do that??" no way i am better at pictures than you are missy miss. but i do a Paint template, then transfer it to Photoshop. it's relatively easy. do a bit of shading, one or two filters here... voila. easy as cake. if you can navigate Photoshop, you can have a lot of fun with pictures.
"As far as I'm concerned if you don't smell, you don't really NEED to take shower. The same goes for clothes. Keep wearing them until they start to smell, and then wash them. This is Proper Adulting." <--i think i always smell. there's this one time i didn't shower for 2 days but accident, and this one lass told me that i needed a quick bath. it was... humiliating yet amusing to say the least.
"Now you're posting again, I think a sneak peek of the Burrow is in your future..." YES. YES. I COMMEND THIS.
