earth laughs in flowers

As many of y'all may recall, I went to Colorado for the last week in May. I've just now gotten around to getting the photos up on the internets. It took me a while, as I had a total of 15 rolls of film to get developed, and the costs of same were rather daunting--$6 to get each roll developed, and then $12 to have the photos stuck on a CD = $270. So instead, I bought a negative scanner. It cost me about $80, and thus saved me $100. Word.

...And it pretty much rules. I've spent most of today scanning the negs and uploading the photos to my website

Colorado made for some pretty fabulous photos, if I do say so myself. Though I always feel like I'm not really doing anything artistic or great in taking pictures of awesome things--it's really the forest or the mountains or God or whatever that should take most of the credit.

I even got some good bird pics!

Hope you guys like the photos. :) So far I've got the bird-watching and the Rocky Mtn. State Park photos up. The rest will be posted at some point in the near future....

  1. BAHH!! ive always wanted to go to Colorado. it looks beautiful. <3 stay lovely dear.

  2. Woah that's expensive! You made a smart move. Now you have a shiny resource for future photgraphic expeditions.

The photos are AMAZING! Damn you live in a pretty country!

I know you're not much of a gamer, but as a fellow Tolkein Nerd you might appreciate this run-through of an Ancient-Middle-Earth-based Custom Map. I can't for the life of me remember which age of Middle Earth it is set in >.<

  3. I do love the pictures :) It was a lot cheaper to buy the negative scanner too. I couldn't imagine paying that much for photo pdevelopment. Then again with today's age of digital photography I rarely ever see photograph developers anymore. I love the views and the bird looks cool. That one you can take a little credit for.

  4. It looks beautiful! And the pictures are s-p-e-c-t-a-c-u-l-a-r! Jealoussss

  5. I was born in colorado, nice pictures thanks for sharing them.

  6. Cool. Keep 'em coming! I love me some good mountain photos!

  7. These look fantastic! I'm glad that you still use film! Can't wait to see more.

  8. The Rockies are so picturesque...much nicer than Jersey, eh? (I can make fun of it cuz I live here)

I love nature pics, and you've taken a ton of good ones. My family always insists on having people in their pics. That's okay now and then but I much prefer your style.

Sorry I haven't commented much lately. Hope you're well. xoxo

  9. Hey... so i creep on yo unabashedly (AND YES HAVE READ EVERYONE OF YOUR POSTS!)

    Help me out?

  10. Mich! I am honored that you are my first follower! Sadly enough, I have blogging diarreah, so I keep adding to my blog. I don't know how long this will last for, but I'm going to keep with it till it runs out. So, whenever you get bored there will be SOMETHING TO READ!

I'm glad you liked my comment! I meant it sincerely. I was reading it book style, and got super pissed when it was done (...or when I stopped being able to control how many posts there were. NOW IT IS JUST ON YOU!) but I never thought to comment, since, I dunno. I had one other blog before which I got rid of (less cool. My family could read it, so I tried to keep it, well. Not like this blog, let's just say.) But, in general I'm not much of a commenter? Or an emailer I guess. I really have to be struck by the spirit, but it is awesome to see that blogger really is like a community.

So! Anyways. I loved your advice but got it too late. I am musing about the past. But in a more interesting way (as you will see eventually. My mind has apparently found some things I want to get out. So We will see how it turns out.

I hope YOU have a good week, and post again soon. I always love to hear what youre up too~ ESPECIALLY when there are cartoons involved!

I will talk to you later!
